We Youth

Creeq's excited to announce we've devised the first ever UK-Brazil Young Offenders Institution creative collaboration project. Thanks to Arts Council England support, young participants at Fundação CASA and Wetherby Young Offenders Institution (HMYOI) will work together internationally to create artworks for an exhibition and publication, supported by professional artists, Creeq, Novus and Pinacoteca de São Paulo.
Inclusive collaboration methods will support innovative artwork co-making by and for the most deprived and excluded young people in society. Participants will also co-curate resulting works into the first international art exhibitions to be displayed at Fundação CASA and HMYOI Wetherby, before sharing these in exhibitions at two major museums, the Pinacoteca de São Paulo and the National Justice Museum, in late 2026-2027.
Free public events, a virtual exhibition, bilingual publication and an online symposium will expand access even further. We're very excited about We Youth and will share insights on Instagram as the collaborations unfold.

Broadening access to arts
A key We Youth aim is increasing access to quality arts for people with limited opportunities in culture. Participation of four groups is central to this:
· Young people in custody as co-designers of the project, as collaborative artists co-producing exhibitions and events, as active participants in engagement events.
· Communities of friends/family from Young Offenders Institutions (YOIs) as active participants in engagement events.
· Professional artists and non-arts staff supporting in YOIs taking an active role and developing professionally from the experience.
· The public as active participants in museum engagement events in two countries. All visitor feedback will be shared with participants to continue mentoring benefits and to actively shape future ambition.
We Youth is supported by Arts Council England, with much-appreciated non-financial support from partners Novus, Fundação CASA, HMYOI Wetherby, Pinacoteca de São Paulo and the National Justice Museum
